1. To protect newly installed plants from harsh, destructive winter winds. In November many of our customers will spray Moisturin on any plant they installed from mid- August on. These plants haven't had the time to establish a deep enough root system before the onset of winter, and are very prone to drying out during a long, harsh winter. Moisturin helps them retain moisture through the winter and therefore can reduce plant losses.
   
2. To help protect sensitive broad-leaf evergreens from winterburn, and the sun scorch so common in our area during sunny, dry, windy winters.

MOISTURIN AS AN ANTI-TRANSPIRANT

Anti-transpirants are compounds applied to plants to reduce water loss through leaves and stems.
Anti-desiccants - reduce water loss from plants; and are used to protect plants from winter damage, drought, wind burn, and transplant shock.

University and field tests have shown Moisturin to be the most effective of all anti-transpirants and anti-desiccants. Why is this? Moisturin anti-transpirant uses a completely different chemistry than typical foliar anti-transpirants.

Moisturin's patented formula contains a tough adhesive resin that has an extremely low vapor transmission rate. This resin allows Moisturin anti-transpirant to be used at any dilution with virtually no danger of plant phytotoxicity. Moisturin anti-transpirant is fortified with two high-grade surfactants, a UV inhibitor and a waterproofing agent to prevent the dried film from leeching off the plant surface. Moisturin anti-transpirant enhances plant appearance with a slight gloss coating and will not stick in sprayers like standard anti-transpirants.

Moisturin is extremely effective as a frost protector. As an anti-transpirant and anti-desiccant, Moisturin can be applied to dormant woody plants to reduce water loss during harvest, storage, shipping and re-planting.
