Few plants give a landscaper more bang for your buck, and a customer more joy, than Hydrangea macrophylla (Bigleaf Hydrangea). Our 7 gallon - 30 to 36" plants (often 3 feet tall and 3+ feet wide depending on the species) are only $36.00, 18-24" plants can be as inexpensive as $16.00. Bigleaf Hydrangea have beautiful textured leaves, spectacular summer blooms and many varieties have colorful fall foliage. When the rush of spring-flowering trees and shrubs is gone, Bigleaf Hydrangeas can take over and provide blooms right through the end of summer. In addition, depending on the species the bloom color can change with the pH and mineral content of the soil. Acidic soils produce blue blooms, whereas alkaline soils produce pink blooms on the exact same variety. Bigleaf hydrangeas fall into one of two categories based on the shape of the bloom.
