Forest Pansy Redbud is one of those trees that you wish more people knew about. Beautiful deep lavender blooms hug the branches in spring. Spectacular deep maroon leaves break soon after bloom and the color of early leaves has to be seen to be appreciated. Holds it's color fairly well over the summer but it does loose more and more of the red in the leaf as summer and fall progress. Good but not spectacular fall color. The combination of the spring bloom and deep maroon leaves is what makes this a special tree.
